Louisiana Music Educator’s
Association District IV Website We will be posting information here that is pertinent to the District IV Area. You are a member of District IV if you are a music educator, and member of MENC, have paid your Louisiana dues (click on the link to the left to join), and you teach in the following parishes: East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Point Coupee, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana Parishes and the area east of the Mississippi River in Ascension and St. James Parishes. Others in surrounding areas may participate in District IV events if eligible and have the permission of the District Director. Large Ensemble Festival information: instrumental Large Ensemble Festival will be on March 27-30 at
Woodlawn High School, 15755 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge.. Middle School ensembles will be on
March 29-30 and High Schools will be March 27-28. Groups may select a performance date
within those restrictions.
Example, if you are a middle school you may request and get either March
29 or 30. Requests for time will
not be honored, so don’t ask. Postmark deadline for entry for
instrumental will be 2/19/2012 Registration forms will be

Information page for vocal and instrumental. Be aware that the minimum
entry fee has gone up to $150.00 by LMEA rule. Also, both Instrumental and Vocal must
pay $20.00 for recording fee, so the effective minimum is $170.00 per group. There is no site fee for vocal this
year, so the fees are the same for both festivals Vocal Large Ensemble
Festival will be at First Presbyterian Church, 763 North Boulevard, Baton
Rouge, LA on 3/22-23/2012. Dana Lux will be chairperson again with Okemah
Crawford. Vocal ensembles may
request either day and this request will be
granted. No requests for specific
time slots will be honored. We
will schedule as much as possible by class and size of ensemble. Some accommodations will be made in
the case of one director with several ensembles. Also, by LMEA rule, no other
information will be forwarded to judges except scores, name of entry and
