Information regarding Snow, Hurricane or other missed days and their effect on A or B Days. Our schedule of A and B days is set at the beginning of the year and will not usually be adjusted due to missed days. I will adjust the band calendar if changes are ever made. If not, you can assume the band calendar is correct.
Christmas Concert The Christmas Concert was a rousing success. If you missed it a recording is posted on the Listen to the Dutchtown Band page.
Symphonic Uniform Requirements. Starting in December, Symphonic Band will need the following for band uniform: Black Shoes, Black Socks, Black Long Sleeve Band Shirt and Black Pants. I will be selling the shirts for 15.00. You can send shirt money or pay online using OPS. Specify Band Shirt Symphonic and make sure it is 15.00. The 10.00 Band shirt online is the old purple one. Pants should be khaki type such as uniform pants. Shoes must be all black with no logo. The best thing to get are Dinkles brand marching shoes, which are also used by Dutchtown High. Allison’s or Zeager Music has them in stock. Students must wear full length black socks, with the exception of girls who are wearing dress black flats.
Practice charts are due on Mondays for all band members. This is part of the band grade. If you have lost your practice chart, you may go to the Band Forms page and print as many as you like. This page also has many other useful forms that you may need for band.
Email list: Please complete and turn in the back page of the band handbook. I need your email to compile an email list. I will email important band notifications to those that are on the list. You may email me at Richard.email@example.com to get on the list.
I have done up a little tutorial on how to get and use Audacity for recording tests on your computer. I hope you find it useful. Click here to read. You can use this program to record sound and save as .mp3 files to send via email. Recorded tests may also be recorded on IPhone and emailed to me. Please change the file name to something with the students name in it.
