School Band Program located in Some of you have
made me aware that there was a virus alert on this site. We did have a virus attack here, and it
has been cleaned and removed. Private Lessons are being offered through the DTHS band this summer. If you are interested, print out this form and get it to me by Monday May 18. Here is the
schedule and dress for the Concert Monday night. 3:00 PM We need to set up the DTHS cafeteria. I need student and parent help for this. If you can help please let me know. Cadet Band (6th grade and 7th grade Concert Band) Arrive at Concert and awards program begins at 6:30 PM. Concert ends about 7 PM. Students should take thier instruments home after the concert and will not need them at school the rest of the semester. School owned instruments (Tuba, French Horn, Oboe, Bassoon) should be brought to the middle school band room after concert for inventory. These instruments will be checked and re checked out to the student for the summer on Thursday. Symphonic Band Arrive at Cafeteria at 6:50 PM Concert will begin around 7:05 Dress is Full Concert uniform like State Festival. Concert should end around 7:45 Please plan to stay to help pick up. If you made a I you will get a medal at the Spring Concert. All students rating are posted. State Festival was a great success this year. Our Symphonic Band played Tuesday and made superior ratings from all judges and received a sweepstakes trophy. This is the highest possible honor at LMEA State Band Festival. If you were not able to attend you can listen to the recording on the Sounds page. Big Congratulations go out to Yennie Jun. Yennie won the Louisiana Flute Society Solo Competition and will perform at SLU for the Flute Society Master Class. Click here to read more about this great honor. Here are a couple of notes of things coming up for Symphonic Band. We are now working on music for District and State Band Festival and will need some extra rehearsal time. We will now have full band rehearsals on Friday’s till District Festival. All rehearsals begin right after school and end at 4 PM. Tape Tests are due for Symphonic Band members. We will have two tape tests per nine weeks. The next one is due Friday, February 13th on the third movement of Three Ayres. Science

This way parents can be aware of what is going on in case something does not make it home from school. |
